Definition
There are two categories of deportees:
- Accompanied deportees – DEPA
- Unaccompanied deportees – DEPU
When making the reservation and issuing the ticket, the special purpose “DEPA” or “DEPU” must be entered after the passenger’s name.
Example:
NM1VLACHOU/MARIA DEPA
The number of deportees of any category accepted on board a flight is decided by the Security Department of Aegean.
The airline reserves the right to refuse any deportee
- Who is believed to cause discomfort to other passengers or jeopardize the safety of the flight
- Who is not handled according to company rules
- Who is under the influence of drugs, except with medical certificate
Find below the relevant Form

The form should be completed by the respective Authorities only and should be submitted to Aegean at least 3 days before the transportation via Aegean HUB in category DEPA/DEPU.
Deportee Request Instructions
For carriage to be approved, before the start of the passenger’s journey, you must insert an SSR (DEPA or DEPU) into the booking, using the NN status and notifying the passenger’s travel documents.
Example:
SR DEPA-ILLEGAL STAY
Using remarks add any important information that will help the Aegean security department to proceed with a confirmation or a refusal:
- Escort’s name in case of DEPA
- Reason for deportation
- If the traveler has exhibited disruptive / violent behavior
- Health issues the carrier needs to be aware of
- Risk assessment (low, medium or high)
Example:
RM PASSENGER IS UNACCOMAPNIED DEPORTEE REASON ILLEGAL STAY
RM LOW RISK ILLEGAL STAY
Aegean will respond according to the SSR status (HK or UC), accompanied, if required, by a corresponding SSR which will contain the correct information. If you haven’t followed these instructions when you created the PNR, you should insert a new SSR. Aegean will then follow the same procedure to respond to you.
Please note that the response to the SSR status (HK or UC) is dependent on security clearance by Aegean.
