How is baggage allowance managed for end-on-end fare combinations?
When end-on-end fare combinations are booked, baggage allowance remains unchanged. This applies only if both fare families have matching baggage allowances.

What happens if a passenger has separate tickets for connecting flights within a 24-hour period?
Baggage rules apply per ticket, even if flights are within a 24-hour connection window.
Example:
- Ticket 1: ATH-SKG in ComfortFlex – includes 1 free checked bag (1PC).
- Ticket 2: SKG-MXP (Light fare) – no free baggage allowance included (0PC).
Outcome: The passenger must pay excess baggage fees for the SKG-MXP segment.
How does baggage allowance work when separate tickets involve different carriers within a 24-hour period?
Each ticketed segment follows its own baggage policy, even if multiple airlines are involved. Passengers should check the baggage policy for each carrier separately to understand potential charges.
Can a passenger carry both a personal item and a cabin bag?
- Only if the fare allows.
- Light fares include one personal item or one carry-on
- Higher fares include both a personal item and a carry-on.
What if baggage exceeds the allowed weight?
23-32 kg: Overweight charges apply.
Above 32 kg: Must be shipped as cargo
Are prams allowed in the cabin?
Foldable prams are permitted if there is an infant or child but may need to be checked at the gate.
Animals in hold (AVIH)
Are baggage fees consistent across all segments in a code-share itinerary?
No – different airlines enforce separate baggage policies. Fees may vary by carrier and region. Check baggage fees per segment before finalising bookings.
How are excess baggage charges calculated for connecting flights or mixed itineraries?
For end-on-end or connecting flights within 24 hours, excess baggage fees are determined by the most restrictive segment – typically the longest flight in the itinerary.
What is the excess baggage policy for interline tickets on long-haul flights in Economy Class?
- First checked bag (up to 23 kg and 158 cm): Included free of charge.
- Overweight baggage (23-32 kg) or additional pieces: Additional charges apply.
What is the baggage policy for Business and First class passengers on long-haul interline flights?
- Two free checked bags (up to 32 kg each)
- Charges apply for additional pieces starting from the third piece.
Are there specific baggage rules for flights to the USA, Canada, Mexico, Central America and Japan?
Yes, additional charges for excess baggage may apply on these routes for Economy class passengers beyond their standard free allowance.
- Countries included in Central America: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.
Please note: Baggage charges may differ when travelling on flights operated in cooperation with other airlines. For more information, please check with the validating carrier for details.
