Infant
Definition and limitations rules
- An infant is a child who has not yet reached its 2nd birthday during their entire trip.
- The following acceptance/limitation rules apply:
- Infants will not be accepted within the first 7 days after birth, except as a pre-authorised medical case.
- Maximum 1 infant per accompanying adult over 16 years of age. If a passenger would like to travel with two infants, an additional second passenger of at least 15 years of age is required to escort.
- The maximum number of infants allowed per aircraft is decided by the number of oxygen masks and infant belts available on board the aircraft.
Infant Request Instructions
- For an infant to be approved, the relevant entry (SSR) remark, using NN status, must be inserted into the booking in advance of the passenger’s journey, specifying the infant’s name and date of birth.
- Aegean will respond according to the SSR status (HK or UC), accompanied, if required, by a corresponding SSR which will contain the correct information. If you haven’t followed these instructions when you created the PNR, you should insert a new correct SSR.
- Aegean will then follow the same procedure to respond to you. Please note that the SSR status reply (HK or UC) will take into account the maximum number of infants allowed per flight.
For more information regarding entries, please contact your GDS Help Desk or visit your GDS’s Help/Info Pages.
“Add infant procedure” will be processed within the original GDS PNR. No need to create a new booking.

For this reason, we ask the parent/guardian with the unaccompanied minor to allow sufficient time for filling out the form.. The form contains personal information about the unaccompanied child as well as the travel details and information on parents or guardians who are handing over and picking up the minor.
Alternatively, you can download the form here so as to be filled out by the parent/guardian, in order to save time at the airport. If you cannot print it out, the form can be filled out at the airport of departure.
