Two Types of Pilgrimage via Jeddah

 

HAJJ
The Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca and a mandatory religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all adult Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey, and can support their family during their absence. The Hajj is performed in the last month of the Islamic calendar.

UMRAH
The Umrah performed by Muslims can be undertaken at any time of the year, in contrast to the Hajj. The Umrah is not compulsory but highly recommended.

TRAVEL CONDITIONS FOR PILGRIMS


Pilgrim Visa
Two types of visa per pilgrimage category: Umrah or Hajj.
Only authorized agencies can issue visas and in general arrange Hajj and Umrah formalities
For a list of authorized agencies by country please consult the respective Kingdom of Saudi Arabia embassy.

Jeddah airport terminals
Hajj and Umrah pilgrims will arrive at a separate airport terminal to the rest of the passengers, the Jeddah Hajj Terminal where Immigration clearance takes place.
All other passengers will use the Jeddah North terminal for arrival.  
Departure from Jeddah: all passengers will use the same airport terminal - Jeddah North terminal.

Zamzam water allowance
Kindly be advised that pilgrims are entitled to carry up to 5 liters per passenger, in official approved containers which they may buy at JED airport. We will accept these officially approved zamzam water containers free of charge on top of the free baggage allowance. Acceptance at check-in will only take place in JED for zamam water in the appropriate packaging , however, it can be transported across the entire network.
