Important Notes

  1. Older people and pregnant women are not considered as MAAS and should be requested as SR DPNA (disabled people in need of help) which is provided free of charge
  2. Aegean escort to and from the aircraft: Any passenger who needs assistance at the arrival or departure airport (e.g. travelling for the first time, unfamiliar with the specific airport or any other case). The service is provided at both the departure and arrival airports.

Eligibility

  • Elderly persons and pregnant women are not considered as MAAS and should be requested as SR DPNA (Disabled Passengers Need Assistance), which is provided free of charge
  • For any other case that is related to medical reasons or disabled passengers (i.e. dementia, paraplegic, etc.), SR DPNA should be requested for the assistance and not MAAS
  • A passenger with MAAS service can travel with an infant
  • A family with children, infant(s) can request MAAS for assistance at the airport, but NOT for carrying the infant(s)
  • For Young travelers (between 12-16) needing assistance, SR UMNR should be requested and not MAAS
  • For Blind and Deaf passengers, request SR BLND and SR DEAF and not MAAS
  • MAAS service is not offered at all airports of the A3/OA network. For airports where MAAS is not offered, SR will automatically turn to NO.

SSR code MAAS– free text with passenger and segment association

For MAAS to be approved, you must insert into booking -in advance of passenger’s journey- the relevant entry (SSR) of your GDS using HK status, by notifying the requested reason.

Interline Agreement Policy

When an itinerary involves OAL, EMDs cannot be issued, as there is no interline EMD agreement. 

In these cases, MAAS is charged according to the policy of each airline involved in the itinerary, an exception is in place ONLY for LHG (LH, LX, OS).
