Important Notes

  1. The ticket for an additional seat for a car seat must be issued using a child fare plus fuel (YQ).
  2. When making a reservation for a passenger travelling with an infant and requiring a seat, they should use a car seat using the same procedure as for an Extra seat. 
  3. The ticket issuance for a passenger and an additional seat can be done in all fare families except LIGHT.
  4. In case ticket is already booked in Light Fare and customer wishes to add CBBG later, service cannot be offered. Customer must purchase a new ticket in fare family other than Light and original ticket can be refunded as per fare rules.



Extra seat for Adult

Charges

  • Extra seat ticket is quoted as per reservation excluding airport taxes. Fare and fuel surcharge to be paid only (YQ).
  • When making a reservation for passenger requiring an extra seat for personal comfort or for cabin baggage occupying a seat* , this must be always requested as cabin baggage (CBBG).


  • *Musical instruments, Works of art, Electronic equipment, Diplomatic baggage, Valuable baggage (i.e. gold and banknotes).

  • Maximum dimensions for A321/A320/A319 Family aircraft **:
    - 150cm Height x 22cm Length x 42 cm Width (from cabin floor)
    - 110cm Height x 60cm Length x 42cm Width (from seat)

  • ** For ATH-CAI-ATH route only, the maximum dimensions are 76X51X30.

  • Maximum dimensions for DASH8-100 and DASH8-400:
    - 135cm Height x 40cm Length x 28cm Width (from cabin floor)
    - 90cm Height x 40cm Length x 50cm Width (from seat)

  • Maximum dimensions for AT7:
    - 135cm Height x 40cm Length x 28cm Width (from cabin floor)
    - 90cm Height x 40cm Length x 50cm Width (from seat)

Extra Seat Reservation Instructions

One (1) Extra Seat

  • In the name element, prefix the surname with the total number of required seats.
    Add a slash and the first name of the passenger followed by a slash and CBBG for cabin baggage or for extra seat.
  • In the supplementary element (SSR), indicate how many seats are extra seats (CBBG).
  • Identify the reason for which the extra seats (CBBG) are being requested.
  • Use SSR followed by CBBG, the airline designator of the airline addressed, the action code NN and the applicable information concerning the reason for which the seats are required. 
  • Aegean will respond according to the SSR status (HK or UC), accompanied, if required, by a corresponding SSR which will contain the correct information. If you haven’t followed these instructions when you created the PNR, you should insert a new SSR. Aegean will then follow the same procedure to respond to you. 

Please note that the response to the SSR status (HK or UC) is also dependent on the available capacity of the flight.

Two (2) Extra Seats for 1 Passenger

  • Book 3 seats in any available published fare.
  • Create three name fields in one transaction. Enter the passenger’s name, enter the CBBG as the first name in the second name field for the first extra seat and enter the passenger’s family name and the world EXTRA as the first name in the third name field for the second extra seat.
    E.g. NM2WILLIS/BRUCEMR/CBBG1WILLIS/EXTRA
  • In the supplementary element (SSR), indicate how many seats are extra seats (CBBG).
  • Identify the reason for which the extra seats (CBBG) are being requested.
  • Use SSR followed by CBBG, the airline designator of the airline addressed, the action code NN and the applicable information concerning the reason for which the seats are required. 
  • Create a supplementary element (SSR) for the second extra seat, using the code OTHS and insert the following phrase as free text:

    ATTENTION PAP3 WILLIS/EXTRA NOT REAL PAP BUT SECOND EXTRA SEAT AS PER PAX RQST/P3
  • Aegean will respond according to the SSR status (HK or UC), accompanied, if required, by a corresponding SSR which will contain the correct information. If you haven’t followed these instructions when you created the PNR, you should insert a new SSR. Aegean will then follow the same procedure to respond to you.

Extra seat for Infant with car-type infant seat

Charge for infant extra seat with car type seat is the respective child fare.

Extra Seat with Car-Type Seat Reservation Instructions

  • Reserve two seats in any published available fare
  • In the name element, indicate prior typing the surname, the number of seats required in total. Then type a ‘slash’ and proceed with typing the name of the passenger travelling with the infant, followed by a second ‘slash’ and CBBG for the extra seat.
  • Use the SSR followed by CBBG, the airline designator, the code NN and any relevant information about CAR TYPE INFANT SEAT.
  • Aegean will respond according to the SSR status (HK or UC), accompanied, if required, by a corresponding SSR which will contain the correct information. If you haven’t followed these instructions when you created the PNR, you should insert a new SSR. Aegean will then follow the same procedure to respond to you. 
  • Please note that the response to the SSR status (HK or UC) is also dependent on the available capacity of the flight.

Car-Type Infant Seat Requirements

The car-type infant seat must display the official labels/certifications:

  • The child restraint control system must conform to the safety standards of FAA and JAA as well as FMVSS.
  • The above system must be certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft and have been approved or conform with all current safety standards of FAA and JAA and the requirements of FMVSS.
  • Such seats can be used for infants or for children up to 12 years old.
  • The maximum weight of the infant/child to be carried must not exceed 27kgs.
  • The base of the car-type infant seat must measure a maximum of 40cm x 40cm in order to be compatible with aircraft cabin seats.
  • The car seat must include shoulder straps (2-point safety belt) for the infant.
  • The mechanism of the car-type infant seat must allow for the safe attachment to the seat belt of the aircraft seat and must not obstruct the movement of the seat in front.
  • The car type infant seat must be attached to the aircraft seat prior to departure and remain attached until arrival.

Car-type infant seats must be placed on: 

  • An empty aircraft seat. It is prohibited for the escort to hold the car seat on their lap. The car seat must remain strapped to the aircraft seat for the whole duration of the flight, unless they are being carried as hand-luggage.
    Car-type infant seats must not be placed on:
  • An aisle seat
  • An exit row seat
  • Rows of seats adjacent to exit rows
  • Car seats must not be placed in a row of seats leading to an emergency exit or in a row of seats located immediately before or after the row of seats leading to an emergency exit.

Passengers with child and car type child seat

Charges

In this case, as for a child, a normal ticket will be issued and charged, Car Type Child Seats are carried free of charge.

Reservation Instructions

  • Create the PNR for the adult and the child
  • Follow the normal procedure for the issuance of adult and child tickets.
  • Just add an SR CKIN about the car type seat information as below:

               SR CKIN-CAR TYPE CHILD SEAT FREE OF CHARGE/P2
               Where P2 is the passenger association for the SR with the child name element.

Car-Type Child Seat Requirements
